Four Dodge County High School (DCHS) Grappling Indians earned a shot at a Georgia High School state title by qualifying in the recent AAA Eastern Sectional wrestling tournament at Morgan County High School in Madison.
Senior captain, Aaron Spires wrestling at 285 pounds became the first ever Grappling Indian to win a first place finish in sectionals and earn a number one seed going into the state tournament this week at the Infinite Energy Center in Duluth. Spires, a fourth place state finisher last year, will take his 49 and 2 record and fight to earn a state championship in hopes of becoming Dodge County’s first high school wrestling state champ.
