The Dodge County High School Grappling Indians recently competed at the West Laurens Raider Invitational, a traditional tournament, which brings some of the best wrestlers in Georgia. During the two-day tournament, wrestlers have five matches in pool play and based off their individual record, they are seeded into the medal rounds.
Earning a first seed at 126 pounds, Aiden Greer, was five and zero in pool play. Earning a second seed at 132 pounds was Christian Grauberger with a four and one record. Third seeds went to Tyler McDonald at 145 pounds with a record of four and one and Justin Warnock at 195 pounds also with a four and one record. Jared Cannon turned in an impressive three and two record and was just shy of earning a spot in the medal rounds.
During the semi-finals both Greer and Grauberger won their matches decisively and headed into the championship finals. McDonald and Warnock were defeated in their semi final bouts and moved into the consolation finals for third or fourth place.
After two days of very tough wrestling and seven matches a piece Greer placed second; Grauberger, second; McDonald, third; and Warnock, fourth.
