Gresston Firefighters were called to the residence of Hazel Barton on Warehouse Drive in Gresston at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27.
When firefighters arrived, the house had already burned to the ground (top photo). The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
The home of Anthony Evans was destroyed by fire on Sunday, May 25. Eastman and Crossroads firefighters were called to the residence at 82 Bedsole Road outside Eastman at approximately 4:51 a.m.

Fires destroy two homes
When firefighters arrived, the house was engulfed in flames (bottom photo).
Firemen fought the fire for approximately three hours. No one was at home at the time of the fire.
Earlier, at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, Evans’ wife called her husband at work and told him the breakers had been tripping and the lights were out in the house. The husband came home at approximately 1:30 a.m. and he and his wife went to stay at a relative’s house for the night.
The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical. The house was a total loss.
