The Dodge County High School (DCHS) Lady Indians faced Jefferson County on Tuesday, October 1, in the first round of region playoffs. The best two out of three games would be played at the reservation because the Lady Indians entered the playoffs as the number one seed.
Haley Holloway took the mound for DCHS in the first game of the day with Faith Manning as catcher. Holloway had seven strikeouts, one walk and allowed three hits. At the plate Manning was two for two with one run batted in (RBI); Margaret Simmons was two for three; Lila Coleman was two for three with three RBIs; Annie Moore was two for four; Lauren Belflower was one for two with one RBI; Holloway was one for three with two RBIs and Kaylee Peterson was one for four. The Lady Indians game away with an eight to zero win.
The pitching/catching duo for game two of the day was Katie Selph and Nikki Graham. The Lady Indians fired up the bats for this game and came away with a huge win of 23 to zero in three innings. On the mound Selph had three strikeouts, one walk and allowed two hits.
Graham was four for four, four RBIs and a two run homerun her first at bat; Simmons was three for four with three RBIs; Caitlyn Smith was three for four with three RBIs; Selph was three for three with two RBIs; Coleman was two for three with two RBIs; Chelsey Hickman was one for one; Lizzie Massingill was two for three with one RBI; Danielle Crabb was two for two with two RBIs; Manning was one for two with three RBIs; and Moore was one for three with one RBI.
