Dear editor,
Today’s headlines seldom are positive. I have heard good news doesn’t sell papers. But, I have some good news I would like to share with the citizens of Dodge County.
As we all know, Dodge County, like many other counties throughout our country has financial problems, but what many do not know is the financial progress that has been made in the last two years.
Below are figures from our county’s audits of our account balance and they are readily available for verification:
December 31, 2010—negative $900,000.00
December 31, 2011—negative $260,205.00
December 31, 2012—positive $53,087.00
We improved our financial position by $953,087.00 (almost a million dollars) in two years, without a tax increase!
Dodge County still faces many challenges. I just wanted to share some good news about our county.
Terry Niblett
Dodge County Commissioner, District Two
