Dr. Melinda Dennis, superintendent of Dodge County Schools, is asking all parents and interested members of the community to complete the survey found at the following link on the Internet: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NLW9CCZ.
Dr. Dennis states, “The 2012-2013 school year is almost over and we consider it a privilege to have served this community and your children. As we look toward the future, we ask all parents and interested community members to complete the survey listed above in order to help us plan for the future of our school system.”
“I know that the public is aware that state and federal monies as they relate to public education continue to decrease. The Dodge County Schools is looking at any area to utilize funding more efficiently. One idea being investigated is the restructuring of our elementary schools, pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. In serving students and meeting their needs consistently, we can see advantages to having all teachers and students of one grade level in one building; however, we also realize that we are serving this community. That is why your opinions are important to us.”
“We are not looking at making any immediate changes in the composition of our schools for the 2013-2014 school year. This information would help us in our long-term planning. Anyone wishing to complete the survey who doesn’t have Internet access can go to any of our schools between now and May 17, 2013. Computers will be made available to you. In addition, the Dodge County Murrell Memorial Library will provide computer access for anyone who needs it. Please complete the survey so that your opinions can be considered. We at the Dodge County Schools realize how fortunate we are to be part of this community and to have the level of support that we do. We want everyone to register his or her opinions on this particular issue. The survey link will be open through Wednesday, May 22, 2013.”
