Dodge County sheriff narcotic investigators served a search warrant at a residence on William Way off of the W.P.A. Road on Thursday September 16.

Investigators state their investigation led to the arrest of two (2) people and a large seizure of drugs, cash and firearms.

Investigators found a large quantity of methamphetamines at the residence along with a huge assortment of firearms.

Investigators seized a large quantity of cash and thirty one (31) firearms, including pistols, shotguns and assault rifles.

Investigators also recovered some stolen tools and other items on the property. [Full Story »]

Dodge County Sheriff Jeff Hinson reports the sheriff’s office continues to put pressure on drug dealers in Dodge County by making arrests and seizing drug dealer assets.

On Friday afternoon, September 10, sheriff’s narcotic investigators served a search warrant at a residence off of Pine Street in Eastman between the Dodge County Middle School and the Boys and Girls Club.

Sheriff’s investigators seized a large quantity of prescription drugs, a quantity of cash, thirteen (13) firearms and several counterfeit bills on printer paper. [Full Story »]

Dodge County Sheriff Jeff Hinson reports that sheriff’s investigators have solved several burglaries and thefts.

Investigators have arrested three (3) people in connection with the burglary that occurred on Florida Avenue in Chester.

Sheriff’s investigators have charged Otell Redmon age (19), Calvin Jerome Redmon (age 25), and Malcolm Miller (age 24), all of Chester, with burglary. [Full Story »]

Grisch Matthias Denmark (42), of Wesley, Florida, has turned himself in to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.

Denmark, a civil IT employee with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Tampa, Florida office, has been charged with felony theft by taking.

According to the sheriff’s office, he allegedly stole a registered German short hair bird dog, valued at $850.00, from a property on Jim Ross Road.

Denmark was a member of a hunting club that leased property in Dodge County. [Full Story »]

Deputies deal with alcohol related calls

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office reports a significant increase in alcohol abuse related calls and arrests over the last two weeks.

Dodge County deputies have responded to multiple fights and domestic arguments in which one or all of the persons involved were intoxicated.

On July 17, Dodge County deputies responded to a fight at McCranie’s Boat Landing south of Rhine involving several people.

One person, a 31 year old male, refused medical treatment at the scene but showed up later at Dodge County Hospital complaining of head injuries. [Full Story »]

Dodge County Sheriff’s investigators conducted an undercover sting operation last month in Milan involving illegal alcohol sales.

Sheriff’s investigators allege that an individual was operating a bar in a shop behind his residence on Swain Street.

Investigators allege that the individual sold and served liquor along with beer on the premises from a counter in the shop.

Sheriff’s investigators twice made purchases of alcohol from the shop on Sundays. [Full Story »]

Investigators solve church burglary

Dodge County Sheriff’s investigators have made arrests in the burglary that occurred at Macedonia Baptist Church July 4.

Sheriff’s investigators received an anonymous tip from the public on July 7 from a citizen who had read about the incident in The Dodge County News.

The citizen was able to provide one (1) name which greatly sped up the solving of the case, according to investigators.

Investigators were already processing physical evidence from the burglary and truck theft that occurred at a residence across from the church. [Full Story »]

Dodge County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Macedonia Baptist Church Sunday morning.

Members of the church arrived to find someone had entered into the church’s social hall, leaving behind a mess including beer cans.

The unknown assailants helped themselves to snacks in the church social hall and apparently sat around drinking beer inside the church, according to sheriff’s investigators. [Full Story »]

Dodge County sheriff’s deputies were called to a stabbing that occurred at a residence on Pine Street in Chester Friday night, June 25, just before midnight.

A mother and a son were stabbed and taken to Dodge County Hospital, according to deputies.

Deputies recover stolen trailers

Dodge County Sheriff’s investigators have recovered three (3) stolen trailers and a stolen all terrain vehicle (ATV) over the past week.

Sheriff’s investigators located a Pace race trailer at a residence in Eastman.

The tag displayed on the Pace trailer was registered to a “home made” trailer, according to the records of the Georgia Department of Revenue, which raised the suspicion of investigators. [Full Story »]
