On January 1, 2010 at approximately 2:10 a.m., Eastman police officers received a 911 call to 5300 Ogden Street, where a shooting had occurred.
Upon arrival, the victim, Nick Jenkins, age 29 of McRae, was lying in the yard with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim had been shot with a 9mm pistol. [Full Story »] 

On Wednesday afternoon, November 25, law enforcement officers served a search warrant on a residence on Lietch Street in the Sunset area of Eastman. The warrant was the result of a joint investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit and the Oconee Drug Task Force. The Eastman Police Department assisted the sheriff’s office and the task force in serving the warrant. A small quantity of suspected cocaine, along with scales and plastic bags, was discovered at the residence during the search. As a result of the joint investigation, Bruce Level (age 38) of Eastman, was arrested and charged with two (2) counts of the sale of cocaine and one (1) count of possession of cocaine. Dodge County sheriff’s investigators investigated a report of a rape that occurred in Milan on Thursday, November 12. Investigators have arrested and charged Kenneth Richard Deese (age 42) of Milan, with one count of rape and furnishing alcohol to a minor as a result of the investigation. [Full Story »] 

Dodge County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for two (2) runaway juveniles. Law enforcement officials are looking for Hermina Brown (age 17) and Jamila Rashida Roberson (age 16).
Brown is described as a black female, approximately 5’ 3” tall and weighing around 140 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. Roberson is described as a black female, approximately 5’ 4” tall and weighing around 120 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.

Dodge County Sheriff’s Investigators have arrested and charged John Wesley Walton (age 38) of Eastman with theft by taking. [Full Story »] 

Sheriff Jeff Hinson reports that Dodge County Sheriff’s deputies seized ninety one (91) marijuana plants last week and arrested two (2) individuals for growing marijuana. The sheriff’s office, the Oconee Drug Task Force, and the Governor’s Task Force for Drug Suppression conducted a joint aerial surveillance operation two weeks ago in Dodge County. [Full Story »]
