Milan police arrested Christopher Adam Lewis of Chauncey for driving with suspended license, driving while declared a habitual violator (felony), and no tag.

Police arrested Sandra E. Mitchell of Rhine for illegal window tint, suspended motor vehicle (MV) registration, driving while license suspended, driving under the influence (DUI), improper u-turn, and open container of alcohol. [Full Story »] 

Former Eastman Badcock Home Furnishings store owner Robert C. Rogers (43), has been arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and charged with felony theft by taking.

Rogers, who now lives in Lavergne, Tennessee, was the owner of the Eastman Badcock store when it moved from Dodge Plaza into a new building beside Zaxby’s on the Cochran Highway.

Rogers was arrested on December 28 and was later released on a $3,000.00 property bond.

He is accused of taking an undisclosed amount of money from Badcock, Incorporated while he was the owner of the Eastman store.

Metal thefts continue to be a problem in Dodge County. Thieves have even stolen metal from the construction site of the new Dodge County jail. [Full Story »] 

Dodge County sheriff’s narcotic investigators searched a residence on Page Street (Chester Highway) in Eastman last Tuesday, December 21. Investigators have arrested Herman Ivey (age 44), of Eastman, in connection with the case. Ivey is charged with the sale of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Sheriff’s investigators were assisted in the case by investigators from the Eastman Police Department.
Sheriff’s investigators have arrested Robert Johnson (age 42), of Eastman. Johnson is charged with multiple counts of felony theft by taking, felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. [Full Story »] 

A Dodge County road crew worker called 911 last Wednesday afternoon, December 15, to report several suspicious people on the dirt portion of Orphans Cemetery Road.

The worker reported seeing two men walking down the dirt road and a third man sitting in a van parked at a rural church.

The report led to deputies discovering a burglary in progress at a residence and barn in the area.

Law enforcement officials arrested three (3) Cochran men involved in the incident. [Full Story »] 

Dodge County Sheriff’s deputies have made several arrests for drug charges over the last couple of weeks as the result of traffic enforcement.

On Wednesday, November 24, deputies arrested Terrance Carr (age 30) of Chauncey, as the result of a traffic stop on the WPA Road.

Carr was charged with possession of marijuana, obstruction of an officer, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol/drugs, driving an uninsured vehicle and possession of an open container of alcohol in vehicle.

On Thursday, November 25, Phillip Nutt (age 20) of Tifton, was arrested as the result of a traffic stop on Georgia Highway 46. Nutt has been charged with possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle without a seat belt. [Full Story »] 

Dodge County Sheriff’s investigators have recovered a stolen Toyota truck and a Bobcat bulldozer.

Investigators have arrested James Andrew Wood (age 42), of an address located in the Gresston Community.

Wood has been charged with two (2) counts of felony theft by taking of a motor vehicle.

Wood has been released from the Dodge County jail on a $6,000.00 bond set by the magistrate court. [Full Story »] 

Dodge County Sheriff’s deputies received a report of the theft of a 2006, 14 foot Smoker Craft Boat from a residence on Abbeville Highway on Sunday, November 7.

Sheriff’s investigators recovered the stolen boat two (2) days later.


The alleged thieves had removed the vehicle identification plate from the boat.

Investigators, upon closer examination of the boat, were able to locate a hidden vehicle identification number on the boat which positively identified the boat as the one previously reported stolen.

Sheriff’s investigators have arrested two (2) Eastman men in connection with the boat theft. [Full Story »] 

Investigators from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and parole officers from the Georgia Board of Pardon and Paroles searched a residence located on Railroad Street in Rhine last Wednesday, November 3.


Officials recovered a large quantity of both suspected crack cocaine and powder cocaine and seized a sum of cash from the residence.


Officials also discovered a 12 gauge shotgun inside the residence.


Officials have arrested William Williams, a.k.a. Pinky McCoy, (age 44), of Rhine in connection with the search. Williams has been charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and with violating the terms of his parole. [Full Story »]
