Margaret Thatcher is on the cover of Newsweek, or -- the next best thing -- Meryl Streep is on the cover as the former British prime minister in a new biopic.

Thatcher is a rich theme. If the types who expound on such things didn’t so hate her politics, she’d launch a thousand dissertations on those inexhaustible academic themes of class and gender. As the daughter of a grocer, she was looked down upon as the personification of, in the words of one highfalutin critic, “the worst of the lower-middle-class.” As a woman in a man’s world, she was venomously attacked by her opponents as a “bitch” or “the bag.” [Full Story »]

Retiring U.S. Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska, hyped as a “conservative” Democrat, only voted conservative 47.01 percent of the time for his ten-plus year career. Compare this to Nebraska’s other Senator, Republican Mike Johanns, who scored 87.50 percent conservative by the American Conservative Union (conservative.org). A haze of ugliness hung over President Barack Obama last month in Osawatomie, Kan., where he delivered a speech as malodorous as an Occupy Wall Street encampment and about as thoughtful. The president needs a campaign theme to patch him over for the next year. He settled on all but blaming the rich for trashing the American Dream. Financial writer Jeff Barwick, a Ron Paul supporter, on the media treatment of Dr. Paul: “If you can’t ignore, discredit.” That’s what they are doing.

Another libertarian conservative-oriented Republican candidate for president, Gary Johnson, former governor of New Mexico (2 four-year terms) is also being ignored by the media. Maybe they do not want you to know too much about him. Gary Johnson has an interesting life story. You should check him out. Gary was elected and reelected easily as a Republican in a state with a 2 to 1 Democrat registration. Term limits prevented him from running for a third term. [Full Story »]

The American Nazi Party has endorsed Occupy Wall Street. So does wealthy white liberal Demoleftist Nancy Pelosi, former House Speaker. Pelosi caused a number of House Democrats to lose in 2010 and tilted House control back to the Republicans. A number of losing Democrats publicly blamed San Fran Nan for their defeat. Dear editor,
The State of Georgia, through our General Assembly and governor, is asking the voters of all Georgia counties to vote on a transportation 1% sales tax called a TSPLOST tax in July 2012.

This 1% sales tax is in addition to other 1% sales taxes counties already have in place. This would be called the TSPLOST TAX (Transportation Special Projects Local Option Sales Tax).

Most counties have a 1% ELOST TAX, a 1% SPLOST TAX, and a 1% LOST TAX.

The ELOST TAX (Education Local Option Sales Tax) is a special tax for local school systems to improve infrastructure within their county.

The SPLOST TAX (Special Projects Local Option Sales Tax) is a special tax for local county government to improve infrastructure within their county.

The LOST TAX (Local Option Sales Tax) is a special tax to alleviate property taxes within the county, i.e. allows a reduction in the millage rate. [Full Story »]
