There are few things more inescapable in American life than the TV screen.

Sitting at the lounge at the airport, there is CNN Headline News overhead, invariably blaring. In the back of New York City cabs, there is a little screen playing stale TV news clips. In waiting rooms, in elevators, in the back of people’s cars and in practically every room in the American home, there it is -- insistent, noisy, the background track to our lives. [Full Story »]

He issued a clarion condemnation of critics of his state’s policy of giving the children of illegal immigrants in-state tuition to college. On January 1, 1980 the Dow Jones Average was 838. On August 12, 1982 it was 777. It went as high as 14,279 on October 12, 2007. It went as high as 14,200 in 2007.

Dear editor,
It doesn’t make sense.

Instead of having a strong belief, we count more on things we can see. There will be many things that will take place in our lives on a daily basis that we often say it doesn’t make sense. This will continue to be as long as we insist on living a worldly way of life. The world is too big for any one person to be in competition with everyone. The answers that we are seeking are found in the Holy Bible. This nation would do well to stop making their own rules just to suit themselves. Too many have gotten comfortable with doing what makes them feel good without doing good. A typical problem – God did not ordain common-law marriage or just living together. ‘If it feels good, just do it’ has become the order of the day. [Full Story »]

Dear editor,
Has history bound to repeat it self?

As a retired NCO from the air force coupled along with honorable service in all branches of the armed forces and serving in three combat theaters, respectfully, The United States Army 1967-68 Viet Nam The Marine Corps, 1971-72 Viet Nam and The United States Air Force, Desert Storm 1990-91. I would like to express my great umbrage of this president of overturning a policy of (“Don’t ask, Don’t tell”) specifically forbids homosexual conduct in the armed forces. [Full Story »]
