Abby Greer, a competitive gymnast for Emerald City Artistic Sports in Dublin, recently attended the 2013 Smoky Mountain Vacation Gymnastics Classic in Sevierville, Tennessee. She competed on vault, floor exercise, uneven bars and balance beam and placed first in the All-Around competition. Greer is currently a two-time state champion and state runner-up. She has represented the Georgia state team three years in a row. Greer is the daughter of Steve and Jennifer Greer of Eastman and has a brother, Aiden. Indians and Squaws win first round of state playoffs, lose in Sweet 16 round

The Dodge County High School Squaws basketball team began their state tournament hosting Peach County on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Peach County was a one-man team with a freshmen guard averaging 26 points a game.

Coach Smith countered this apparent weakness by putting her best defensive player, Monica Woodard, on her and told her to, “stick to her like glue.” [Full Story »]
