The 12-year old and under (12U) Middle Georgia Swat team won first place in the Amateur Softball Association Premier “Get Yo Game On” tournament on Saturday, April 6, 2013. Swat went undefeated in the tournament. Dodge Impact 10-year old and under (10U) softball team finished second out of eight teams in the “Seal the Deal” tournament in Cordele on Saturday, March 16, 2013. The Dodge County Indians have five losses on the season. Four of those five losses were on days where the recorded high was 58 degrees or below and the low that night in the 30’s.

In those four “cold weather” games the Indians were outscored 35 to six. As you can imagine, we are all hoping the cold weather is gone for a while. [Full Story »]

On March 18, 2013 the Dodge County (DC) Indians traveled to Ocilla to take on the Irwin County Indians. The game was close from start to finish.

Dodge County took the lead late with a sacrifice fly by Lance Pruett and was able to hold on to get the win.

Pruett was the winning pitcher throwing six innings, striking out four, giving up three hits and allowing two runs.

Jordan Smith pitched the last inning to get the save striking out two. Smith also had a double in the game. [Full Story »]

The Dodge County High School (DCHS) Indians had an amazing win last week.

The Lady Indians started their good fortune when they traveled to Wheeler County and came home with an astonishing win with a 12-1 victory. This definitely put them on an all-time high. [Full Story »]

On Monday, March 11, 2013 the Wilcox County Pirates visited the Reservation. This was a make-up game for a rain out game originally scheduled for February 26, 2013.

Lance Pruett got the start on the mound for the Dodge County High School (DCHS) Indians. He made quick work of the Pirates in the first inning.

The Indians got their bats started early in this one scoring six runs in their half of the first inning.

The bats stayed hot for the Indians who ran up a total of 15 hits and 18 runs in the four-inning victory. [Full Story »]

The Dodge County Wrestling Club (DCW) recently finished up their season with six wrestlers representing the club at the 2013 Georgia Little Kids State Tournament.

Placing first for the second time in his young career was Anthony Mannella, who got his start at DCW several years ago and has been representing the Georgia national team for the past two years competing across the nation. [Full Story »]

Abby Greer, a competitive gymnast for Emerald City Artistic Sports in Dublin, recently attended the 2013 Smoky Mountain Vacation Gymnastics Classic in Sevierville, Tennessee. She competed on vault, floor exercise, uneven bars and balance beam and placed first in the All-Around competition. Greer is currently a two-time state champion and state runner-up. She has represented the Georgia state team three years in a row. Greer is the daughter of Steve and Jennifer Greer of Eastman and has a brother, Aiden. The Dodge County High School Squaws basketball team began their state tournament hosting Peach County on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Peach County was a one-man team with a freshmen guard averaging 26 points a game.

Coach Smith countered this apparent weakness by putting her best defensive player, Monica Woodard, on her and told her to, “stick to her like glue.” [Full Story »]
