Middle Georgia College Basketball Coach Cedric Jordan recently attended the top 120 junior college player James Mullen Camp in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Jordan states “I learned a lot more about how to better coach my team and I really enjoyed my time in Tulsa meeting all the top head coaches.”

The fourth annual Grappling Indians wrestling camp will be held from July 22-26, 2010 at the wrestling gym.

Younger kids will meet from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Bigger kids will meet from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Dodge County 8 and under All-Star team traveled to Screven County July 8-10, 2010 for the state playoffs.

Dodge opened up play on Thursday night against Pike County. Dodge shut down Pike one, two, three in the top of the first and then went to work on offense.

Everyone on the team came to hit and Dodge took an early 6-0 lead and never slowed down.

With outstanding team defense and hitting, Dodge run-ruled Pike 15-0 in three innings.

On Friday morning Dodge County took on North Bryan County in the second round.

Dodge jumped out to a two-0 lead and it stayed that way for a while until the bats came alive later in the game and Dodge took a 14-4 victory in five innings to head to the semi-final game undefeated. [Full Story »] 

The Dodge County 12 and Under Fast pitch softball team traveled to Sylvania for the GRPA Class C State Tournament July 8-10, 2010.

The team had been practicing vigorously for the past several weeks getting ready for the challenge.

First up for the girls on Thursday night was Mt. Zion out of District 4. Dodge came out on fire and never looked back cruising to an easy 17-0 first round win.

On Friday morning the girls would face a big Oconee County team.

Again, Dodge came out ready to play and cruised to an easy victory by a score of 15-1.

Next up for the team was a tough Jeff Davis team. A combination of the high heat and fatigue on both teams held the game scoreless until late in the game.

On Saturday, July 10 two Dodge County All-Star teams won the state championship.

The 8-under Dodge County All-Stars girls team and the 12-under Dodge County All-Stars girls team celebrated their state championship win with a parade.

The Lady Sox recreational softball team coached by Kerry Rogers, Jason Lann and Tony Thompson came in second place in the Dodge County Recreational tournaments.

They also finished second place for the season.

The Dodge County seven and eight year old boys All-stars won first place in district on Saturday, June 26, 2010 in Hawkinsville.

They will be going to state July 8-10 in Screven County.

The 10 and under Dodge All Star boys won the district championship this past weekend and will now advance to the state tournament on July 8-10 in Hazlehurst.

Dodge County 14 and under girls started their district tournaments on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Eastman Dodge Recreation Department.

Dodge defeated Screven 20 to four in the first round.

Second round against Hawkinsville on Thursday led Dodge to another win 13 to zero.

On Friday, games were rained out forcing a very long day of tournament play in the heat on Saturday.

Dodge faced Soperton early in the day and walked away with a 16 to one win. That win secured our girls position in the Championship game at 1:00 p.m. [Full Story »]
