The Grappling Warriors traveled to Toombs County to participate in the Middle Georgia Middle School Athletic Association Region Tournament.
Filling only 14 out of 22 weight classes, the Warriors placed third as a Team being edged out for second place by West Laurens by a margin of two points.

Out of 14 wrestlers on the Dodge line up, 11 placed in the top four and five wrestlers were crowned region champions.
Crosse Bearden, who suffered a fractured arm at last year’s region tournament, battled through the competition to win gold in the 75 pound class. [Full Story »] 

This past week saw a flurry of action for Dodge County wrestling.

The Grappling Warriors took on Coffee County Middle School at home defeating them for the second time this season. On the same night, the Grappling Indians hosted some stiff competition from Perry, Coffee, and Swainsboro. The Indians won the dual versus Swainsboro but fell to Perry and Coffee.

Later in the week, the Warriors traveled to East Laurens to take on Dublin and East Laurens Middle School teams. Always tough, the Dublin Irish were formidable opponents for the Warriors who have enjoyed an undefeated winning streak this year. Winning by merely 2 points, the Warriors managed to hang on to their perfect season.

In youth club action, Porter Faulk traveled to Gainesville to complete another leg of the Tour of Georgia Series.

Competing in the Viking Hall Invitational, Faulk bested the competition to bring home the gold medal in is 8U weight class. He also competed in the 10U bracket earning a hard fought Silver medal. [Full Story »] 

The Dodge County Junior Grapplers had an awesome tournament at the Tour of Georgia Falcon Fury recently. We had five wrestlers in the morning session, including Jake Rogers who was wrestling his first ever tournament. Jake, our first wrestler of the day started things off right by pinning his first opponent in 12 seconds. [Full Story »] 

While many of us were enjoying the holidays, time off from work and eating delicious meals with family and friends, several Dodge County Wrestlers were sweating it out on the mat competing against the best wrestlers in the nation and honing their skills.

At The Wrestling Academy’s Christmas Camp in Lawrenceville, Crosse Bearden brought the thunder while learning new skills in arguably the toughest two-day camp in Georgia. [Full Story »] 

Will Morgan, 120 pounds, conquered a new milestone in the young history of Dodge County Wrestling. He became the first high school wrestler to win a gold medal at an invitational tournament. Battling against 16 others teams, Morgan’s impressive preliminary bouts earned him a 4-1 record and a shot at the medal rounds. [Full Story »] 

The wrestling season is in full swing as Dodge County has teams competing across the state last week. In middle school action, the Grappling Warriors traveled to Telfair County to battle with the Jr. Trojans and Montgomery County.

They also wrestled their home debut match of the season against Dublin and Telfair County. At all stops, the young Warriors are turning heads and displaying incredible sportsmanship and intestinal fortitude.
