Vice Plagiarist Babbling Bumbling Joe Biden claimed back in 2010 that the Republicans spent $200 billion in attack ads against Barack Obama.

That was quite a feat, since total spending by all presidential candidates in 2008 was around $2.4 billion (a record amount) and everyone knows off year elections have far less spending than in presidential years. Just think - this character is next in line for the presidency. Next up behind Biden was Nancy Pelosi until the Republicans took over the House (thankfully) so now next up behind Biden is Republican John Boehner, who isn’t that great but is just glad to be there. Biden and Pelosi became valuable weapons for the opposition in the Republican resurgence in 2010. [Full Story »] 

I’ll put South Dakota’s colorful Republican former governor and Congressman Bill Janklow, one of my favorite politicians, up against any politician for brash conduct, brains, ability and effectiveness. He knew how government worked and how it could be harnessed in a beneficial way, which should be the main function of any officeholder. He served four years as state attorney general, eight as governor, sat out four years because of term limits, came back for four more years as governor, was reelected again for a fourth term, was term-limited out again, then ran for and won South Dakota’s only House seat. He won easily every time. Known to many as Wild Bill, his 22- year career ended tragically when he ran a stop sign on a rural South Dakota road and hit and killed a motorcyclist, which he never got over, and was convicted of vehicular homicide in 2003. It haunted him to the end, of course. His main flaw was always being in a hurry. He was one who should have always let someone else drive. [Full Story »] 

Writer James Delingpole on Telegraph.co.uk notices similarities between British Prime Minister Tony Blair and U.S. President Barack Obama. James is not a fan of either. Among other similarities he finds these:

Retiring U.S. Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska, hyped as a “conservative” Democrat, only voted conservative 47.01 percent of the time for his ten-plus year career. Compare this to Nebraska’s other Senator, Republican Mike Johanns, who scored 87.50 percent conservative by the American Conservative Union (conservative.org). Another libertarian conservative-oriented Republican candidate for president, Gary Johnson, former governor of New Mexico (2 four-year terms) is also being ignored by the media. Maybe they do not want you to know too much about him. Gary Johnson has an interesting life story. You should check him out. Gary was elected and reelected easily as a Republican in a state with a 2 to 1 Democrat registration. Term limits prevented him from running for a third term. [Full Story »] 

The American Nazi Party has endorsed Occupy Wall Street. So does wealthy white liberal Demoleftist Nancy Pelosi, former House Speaker. Pelosi caused a number of House Democrats to lose in 2010 and tilted House control back to the Republicans. A number of losing Democrats publicly blamed San Fran Nan for their defeat. Remember when SORE (Staid Old Republican Establishment) types wanted ultra phony sellout Charlie Crist in the U.S. Senate and called on Marco Rubio to get out of the Florida Senate race? These characters also opposed Rand Paul in Kentucky. Both men wisely ignored the SORE folks and stayed in - and won big. [Full Story »] 

In an interesting interview with Newsbusters.org (a great site) MSNBC morning host and former Congressman Joe Scarborough says Newt Gingrich fought against him in the 1994 Republican Primary, claiming Joe was too conservative and couldn’t win in November. Newt figured it wrong - Joe won the primary and took 62 percent of the vote in the November general election, his first try for public office. He became the first Republican to represent that part of Florida (Pensacola area) since 1872. [Full Story »] 

Congressman Ron Paul, showing his political astuteness way back, was one of only four Republican congressmen to endorse Ronald Reagan over Gerald Ford in the 1976 Republican Primary and was the first of the four to do so. If voters had listened to these four and dumped Ford in 1976 most people would not know who Jimmy Carter was today. You saw what happened in 1980. He is highly critical of Newt Gingrich today and well he should be, since Newt sneakily tried to defeat Ron when he returned from medicine to Congress in 1996. Ron is still there. Newt isn’t.
