The Dodge County High Indian baseball team opened their 2010 season by splitting games with Hawkinsville and Worth County last week. The Indians hosted Hawkinsville on Wednesday, February 24 and defeated them 10-0 in five innings. Dodge traveled to Worth County on Thursday, February 25 and lost 8-4 to the Rams. [Full Story »]

The Dodge County High Indians soccer team hosted their first game of the season on Tuesday, February 23, 2010.
The girls played first and were defeated by Irwin by the score of 0-5. The Irwin ladies are a strong team that demanded our ladies to work together and utilize skills they have been working on in practice. We have a full team with many returning players and quite a few new ones. [Full Story »]

Dodge County sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant at residence on First Avenue in the Bacon Heights area of Eastman early Saturday morning. The warrant was the result of a narcotics investigation. Deputies found a large quantity of both suspected cocaine and marijuana at the residence. Deputies also seized nearly $3,000.00 in cash from inside the residence. Dodge sheriff’s narcotics investigators arrested the homeowner, Anthony Carl Horne (age 44) of Eastman. Horne is charged with both possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. [Full Story »]

In keeping with his new spirit of compromise, President Barack Obama has offered a health-care bill staking out middle ground between House and Senate Democrats.
At $950 billion, it’s more expensive than the Senate bill, but cheaper than the House bill, and mixes and matches sundry tax proposals.
