The Dodge County High Indians baseball team won two sub region games last week and dropped one non-region game. The Indians defeated East Laurens on Tuesday, March 16, 3-2; lost to West Laurens, 13-3 on Thursday, March 18 and defeated Vidalia, 5-2 on Friday, March 19. The Indians are now 5-4 overall and most importantly, 2-0 in the sub region.
In Tuesday’s game with East Laurens, Christian Miller picked up the win on the mound and is now 2-1 on the season. Miller allowed three hits and one earned run while striking out four. Leading batters for Dodge were: Brandon Beck was 1-for-3 with a run scored; Jordan Smith was 1-for-3; Clint Taylor had an RBI; Herschel Anderson, Brady Blalock and Christian Miller all had hits. O.J. Hogan had a stolen base and a run scored.
Stepping up at the plate for the Indians in their 13-3 loss to West Laurens was: Brandon Beck was 2-for-3 with a double; Jo Jo Harrison was 1-for-3; Trent Mitchell went 1-for-1 with two runs scored; Christian Miller was 1-for-2 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored; Cole Evans had a sacrifice bunt and an RBI; Clint Taylor was 1-for-2 with a double. Freshman Aaron Chick was the losing pitcher for Dodge.
