The Dodge County All-Star 12U Girls competed in the Class C State Softball Tournament July 6-9 at the Appling County Recreation Complex in Baxley. The Dodge County girls went undefeated in the tournament, as well as the all-star season with a record of 21-0. In the state tournament play, the team scored a total of 50 runs in five games while only allowing seven runs. This is the third state win in three years for Coach Brian Perdue as well as five of the players, Briana Perdue, Kaylee Peterson, Faith Manning, Leah Creech, and Lindsey Crummey. According to a statement made by EDCRD director Bodie Gray, “We are building a dynasty”.
Dodge began state tournament play by facing host Appling County. Dodge defeated them 11-2. Pitcher was Briana Perdue, who had seven strikeouts for the game. Margaret Simmons, Allie Parkerson, and Kaylee Peterson were all 3-3 for the game.
