Love is one of the most durable forces on Earth. One may describe love in many ways. We can believe that love never fails. We must remember that there are three kinds of love that we must concern ourselves with. Eros is a lustful kind of love.

It speaks for itself. Phileo love is brotherly love. It is how we feel about our fellow man. Agape love is the most important kind of love. It is the way our Lord and Savior feels about his children. It is such a blessing that he does not judge us as our sins deserve. [Full Story »]

A Little Common Sense

We should have known about Juan Williams long ago. The signs of a simmering bigotry were always there. The political commentator wrote the book “Eyes on the Prize: America’s Civil Rights Years, 1954-1965.” He followed that up with an admiring biography of Thurgood Marshall. Then, more books on the African-American religious experience, historically black colleges and black farmers.

If there was anyone clearly on the verge of exploding in a venomous rant against a minority group, it was Williams. And then, inevitably, it happened. [Full Story »]

Dear editor,

The Bible says in Jude 7, “In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding town gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion.” Genesis 19:24 “Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah from the Lord out of heaven.”

Has America gone the way of Sodom and Gomorrah? What kinds of programs are on TV? What about sexting, gay marriage, child molesting, infidelity, internet pornography, etc.? [Full Story »]

While I appreciate the local interest in the homecoming events last week, I think that equal attention should have been given to the article about Wes Taylor.

After all, how many times does a local son achieve an honor as National High School Principal of the Year? Page five of the local paper just does not show the respect and admiration that it deserves. [Full Story »]

Three cheers for Susan Southerland!

As many of you must know, Susan announces the Lady Indians softball games on WUFF Radio. The Lady Indians are an exciting, hard working team who seem to really enjoy the game and, rightly so, usually end up in the winner’s column. Susan adds a spark of excitement to their already exciting games.
For one who has followed Dodge County sports since 1963, one must say that Susan is, by far, the best sports announcer to appear on the scene in Dodge County. [Full Story »]
