This is a continuation of the court cases heard in Dodge Superior Court recently.

Sheila Mae Durham was charged with one count of felony theft by taking, which was reduced to a misdemeanor theft by taking. Durham received 12 months probation, was fined $350.00 and restitution as determined. [Full Story »]

Milan baby kidnapped, recovered in Mississippi

Dodge County sheriff’s deputies were called early last Thursday morning to a residence on Railroad Street in Milan to a missing eight (8) month old baby boy. Deputies discovered that the baby was in the legal custody of the grandparents, who lived at the residence. The grandparents stated that on the previous night they had picked their daughter up at the bus station in Macon. The daughter, Taylor Maskill (age 19), who is the mother of the grandbaby, was allowed to stay the night at the resi- dence. At 5:00 a.m. the grandparents discovered that the mother was gone along with the child. [Full Story »]

A loan that was in default for six years has been recovered and paid back to Dodge County.

The $80,800.00 loan was made to Aircraft Manufacturing and Development (AMD) from Dodge County’s revolving loan fund. No payments were made on the loan and it went into default. The owner of AMD, Matthew Hines, left the United States after his company went belly up. [Full Story »]

The Dodge County High School (DCHS) Junior Reserves Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) Drill Team and Color Guard have a long tradition of performing well across South Georgia.
