After three public meetings and input from citizens of Dodge County, the Dodge County Board of Commissioners voted to increase the millage rate 1.5 mills at their special called meeting on Wednesday, July 30.
After little discussion at the called meeting, commission chairman Dan McCranie informed citizens that the only thing that could be discussed or voted on was setting the millage rate.
Commissioner Terry Niblett commented, “I too am a property owner. So when we are voting here, and if we do vote to go up on taxes, I’m voting to go up on my taxes. I never thought I would vote for a tax increase. Unfortunately, at the place we are at right now, I don’t see any alternative. I feel like we have tried, we have done the best we could and I don’t see any other way except to go with a tax increase. A two-mill tax increase will be a burden on the county. I think we need to keep it as low as possible.”

I am writing to enlist the help of all animal loving Americans about a shameful and disgusting occurrence that is happening to many of our devoted life saving trusting animal soldiers, our dogs. They have served our country and saved many lives at the expense of their own many times and now are being left behind in many instances.
It seems that if the dog is discharged while out of the United States he is left in the country where he was discharged rather than being brought back home. This is a shameful thing to happen to these animals that have served so faithfully.

In just a few weeks Dodge County will be back in school. Just like other counties we have great students. From top to the bottom we are failing them in the area of discipline and holding them accountable for their actions.
The Dodge County school system needs to take a closer look at its discipline policies. What is in place is not working. The behavior of many of our students on the school buses has become outrageous. There is no need to have rules and regulations if we care not going to enforce them.
Children in school are not just a family affair bur the entire community. Students are prohibited from using any type of electronic device while riding the school bus. This is a serious violation. But, does anyone care what position these young men are wearing their trousers in and out of school? Although they have different daily jobs I would hope that the superintendent, a board member, principal or a parent with permission would ride the school bus from time to time and see for themselves what bus drivers are faced with each day. Something you should know. Michelle Martin, also known as (a.k.a.) Michelle Nunn is the daughter of former Senator Sam Nunn and wants to become one of the scalawags shutting down America. Her motivation is unclear and her qualifications are nil. Martin has nothing to recommend her for the senate but maybe she took a cue from Barack Obama who is less qualified than she is.
Oh, I forgot, children of the privileged don’t need qualifications. She and her handlers are counting on her family name to get her elected. Regardless of what family we come from, each of us must make our own way, stand on our own merit and earn whatever it is that we have.
Martin says in her radio ads that she will be able to work with others to end gridlock in Washington. Yeah right! It wouldn’t surprise me in the least that her support for Israel depends on how much money Jews donate to her campaign even when she tries to convince us she is on their side. What she wants is for her party to take control of the congress so the anti-America agenda can precede unimpeded by law and morality.
She has made it clear that she opposes our individual right to defend ourselves if that defense includes using a gun. I guess she would want us to throw rocks like the unarmed citizens in other countries do. The Obama team supports her because of her opposition to Second amendment rights. This woman has made a good living the past few years toiling in a non-profit organization dedicated to volunteerism. The goal is for their volunteers to be inspired, equipped and mobilized to “change the world.”

Remember the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline in the early 1970s? Imagine today’s gas prices without it. Most Senate liberals had the good sense to vote for it, recognizing the need to produce more oil in the USA. Even Ted Kennedy voted for it. Some “experts” claimed it would only produce oil for a few years then run dry but it is still pumping away more than 41 years later. Only five senators were dumb enough to vote against it in 1973 when it passed overwhelmingly. All five were big favorites of the liberal media, of course.
The only one still in Washington is the Delaware Demoleft dimwit Joe Biden, now vice-plagiarist of the USA, then 30 or 31 years old, now in his seventies. The other no votes were cast by Senators Birch Bayh (D-Indiana), Harold Hughes (D-Iowa), William Proxmire (D-Wisconsin), and Edward Brooke (RINO-Massachusetts). It’s hard to believe Biden is still there. Be careful how you vote. You could be creating a long-term monster. People stupidly reelect these losers.
