Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp wants to remind Georgians they must be registered to vote by April 21st in order to participate in the May 20th Primary Election.
“Every Georgian should have the opportunity to vote in the May 20th Primary Election,” said Kemp. “The good news is that it is easier than ever to get registered to vote or to change your registration information.”

Lakeside Assembly in Eastman will hold a 5K and one-mile fun run on Saturday, May 3, 2014. “Brian’s Missions for Life” will begin and end at Lakeside Assembly at 1417 Cochran Highway in Eastman.
Registration begins at 7:00 a.m., the one-mile fun run starts at 8:00 a.m. and the 5K at 8:30 a.m.
There will be live music, entertainment for kids, snacks and water will be provided.

Over 60 percent of college degrees now go to women, yet the president pushes his phony and distracting “war on women,” an obvious vote ploy with the midterm elections coming up this year.
He pushes gender equity in pay, yet an example of blatant gender-based pay discrimination is the White House staff itself where men are paid considerably more than women: 88 cents on the dollar for women versus men. If he is serious about the subject, he could start the equal pay push right at home.
The decisions women make regarding marriage and child bearing have a great deal to do with the pay gap between men and women, says talk host Michael Medved, who points out that the Paycheck Fairness Act has been around for years. This is a convenient distraction from the failing economy and chronic U.S. unemployment exacerbated by the illegal immigration problem displacing American workers.

Eastman Police were called to an armed robbery at the Hop-In convenience store on Oak Street at 3:40 a.m. on Saturday, April 12.
While other police and Dodge County sheriff’s units searched the area for the suspect, Eastman Police Officer Jason Park was told by the store clerk that she had been waiting on a customer at the counter when a masked black man carrying a firearm came through the front door.
The masked man began yelling orders to get on the ground. The clerk was holding a dollar bill in her hand and the masked man snatched it from her. He then went to the counter and opened the cash register. [Full Story »]
