The Obama administration provides illegal aliens all you can eat meals, free cable television, lawyers, medical and dental treatment, all the comforts of home, while Marine Sergeant Andrew Tahmooressi languishes in a dirty Mexican jail, suffering beatings and other mistreatment, four months and counting, for making a wrong turn on the border on a poorly-marked road. Who speaks for him? Apparently he has been abandoned, at least until the ransom goes up.

Texas Governor Rick Perry has persuaded Charles Schwab & Co. to move from San Francisco to El Paso, Texas, creating 1,200 new jobs in low-overhead, low-tax Texas. California is running people off with high taxes and big illegal immigration problems. I have worked in Texas six different times, once in the Air Force and five times with Eastern Airlines. One thing I noticed quickly - no state income tax in Texas. Working in Texas was a pleasure. Taxes are very high in California. I worked there twice in 1983. I understand conditions have become much worse since then. California had pleasant weather and a very unpleasant cost of living. Both were good in Texas.

Last weekend the drinking water of 400,000 Toledo residents was fouled by animal waste. With unfettered growth of animal agriculture and ineffective discharge regulations, it will happen again in our own state.
The problem has become pervasive. Waste from chicken farms has rendered ocean off the East Coast unfit for fishing. Waste from Midwest cattle ranches carried by Mississippi River has created a permanent “dead zone” in the Gulf of Mexico larger than that of the infamous 2010 BP oil spill. [Full Story »]
