Things the citizens should know:
Over in my neck of the woods railing against politician-inflicted evil is as natural as pine trees. This old man who lives among the pines does not believe that the politicians are totally responsible for the mess we are in but they do have a very major part in it. Our country is in a mess because disinterested, turned off citizens don’t give a hoot about politics.
In order to keep on wreaking their havoc, politicians have to get elected. For most of them, politics is the fuel for a power trip feeding a fractured ego. Control of the lives of others is their substitute for a meaningful sense of self worth. Politicians have to suffer the indignities of the election process in order to continue their mayhem. Citizens claiming not to give an owl’s honk about politics seem to think they only have to maintain normal body temperature and stay above ground.
Those who proclaim their disinterest in politics are really saying they don’t know beans about it. Avoidance is their way of eschewing any discussion or involvement in the mess and disavowing any responsibility in the results of an election when there is a breakdown in the governing body as we are seeing right now. This allows the politician to carry out his duties as he pleases knowing that he’ll get away with whatever it is he wants to do, without major repercussions. Thus, the chaos continues and it thrives.

Bush Bulbs and 19 Republican Senators voted for the bill in 2007 banning the great Edison cheapo, efficient, affordable incandescent bulbs. Why not let the public decide in the free market which bulbs to buy? And why did GWB play ball with his enemies on the left?
Yes, Republicans are the Stupid Party, as the late great Sam Francis frequently pointed out. I’d still rather be stupid than evil. The Democrats are Evil personified.
Information you can’t do without: In Great Britain they still consume three times as much tea as coffee, even though Starbucks has invaded Britain. In the USA, the numbers are reversed - three times more coffee drank than tea. [Full Story »]
