Must say the millennial democrat voter and even older ones too, show just how stupid they really are in news reports and letters to the newspapers supporting election of the president by popular vote versus the electoral college. Your lack of understanding of the constitutional underpinnings reflects volumes of your voting demographics in paying attention in school. Democrat voters, please put down your weed pipe, take your perverted minds off the free peep show in the women’s dressing rooms/bathrooms for just a moment so this republican voter can school you!
As a 70-year-old former Dodge County High School student, class of 1965, I’m still well versed in simple high school civics.
Our founders wanted to preserve states’ authority and therefore created a constitutional republic, not a pure democracy. To limit federal power, the 10th amendment was added.
In addition, each state has two senators regardless of population. Now some states have two senators and one member of the House. To ensure large population states did not control elections, the Electoral College was created. Without the Electoral College small, thinly populated states would be left out. We are a large and mobile nation. Populations shift for economics, climate or social reasons. Our system provides representation regardless of population shifts. We are best served when the concept is understood and NOT altered for current political purpose.
What’s the bottom line of this opinion letter? Hey cry baby you lost, now get over it. The Donald is your man, and there is no more FREE stuff either. Get a JOB!!

Exit polls on Election Day showed high school educated white men voted Trump over Clinton by 67-20 percent and white women with the same background also went for Trump in smaller margins. This is a huge voting bloc, seldom discussed by big media. These voters are also far more intelligent than the media portrayal. VDARE.com and other savvy sites have been pointing this out for years. Maybe listening to the media left’s “friendly “ advice to cater to Democrat constituencies is a mistake. Their overrated “gender gap” predictions did not materialize this year. Maybe the Dangerfield vote showed up on November 8th.

New York magazine’s whiney writer David Remnick called Donald Trump’s election “a sickening event, a tragedy for the American republic,” a victory for “authoritarianism” at home and abroad. In other words, liberals lost. At least he knows we are a republic, not a democracy.

Lawmakers in California won’t require National Guardsmen to repay enlistment bonuses issued a decade ago after they signed up for a tour in Afghanistan and Iraq. There always seems to be plenty of money for foreign aid but not enough for active military and veterans. [Full Story »]

The Calexit vote is set for 2018. Good – this isn’t Ronald Reagan’s California any more, not for many years now. I would love to see California leave the USA, maybe take Oregon and Washington with them. We would then go from 57 or 58 states back to 54 or 55. Remember Obama saying he’d visited 57 states with one to go? It’s a good thing Dan Quayle didn’t say that.
I needed a cry room with coloring books, hot cocoa and therapy help after Goldwater lost in 1964 when I was 24 and back then people just laughed at us. Now they take care of their little liberal pals. They quickly found out L. B. Johnson was lying to us in ‘64. Some even told me later they were sorry they voted for the creep Johnson. I remember people in my Air Force reserve unit generally hated Lyndon Johnson. He later activated my unit and sent it to Vietnam, shortly after I got out.
Amazing, isn’t it – who’d have figured Republicans would carry Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Ohio, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Florida but not Virginia. I’d never have guessed West Virginia would go Republican consistently while Virginia turned left several elections back.
If you travel to South Carolina try to leave your gas tank nearly empty when you enter the state. It’s a lot cheaper there than in Georgia.

Compare Barack Obama’s statement on Castro’s death to Donald Trump’s reaction. You can see that we made the right decision on November 8.
One Georgia man somehow avoided learning the election result for a week or so afterward, maybe still hasn’t gotten the word. He must’ve had no electricity – or batteries, or human contact. Remember when we would get word that some poor Japanese fellow would walk out of a cave, just now realizing World War II had ended a while back? Alabama’s focused football coach Nick Saban said he went through Election Day not knowing the election had taken place. Maybe he voted early. [Full Story »]
