Recently two Grappling Indians representing Dodge County Wrestling Club travelled to Atlanta to compete in the prestigious Georgia Grind Wrestling Tournament. This annual tournament draws the best of the best from the South East and is billed as one of the toughest tournaments in the south.
Representing Dodge County this year was Jared Cannon and McCay Turner. Cannon turned in a near perfect performance on the day fighting his way through the consolation bracket to win third place. Not stopping there, he was able to challenge for second place and defeated his opponent in grand fashion to bring home a second place finish.
At 85 pounds, Turner battled some seasoned opponents all day and never quit. He won his opening match quite impressively before being sent to the consolation bracket. Scrapping his way through the bracket he needed to win every match to stay in the tournament. By the time the dust settled, Turner had defeated all-comers and emerged victorious in the consolation finals to earn a third place trophy.

It’s called the “One Ring” scam. Scammers only ring once, disconnect, and then wait for cell phone users to call the number back. The numbers usually come from islands like Grenada, the British Virgin Islands and Antigua.
One Woodruff woman received two strange phone calls, but before she called back, she called her cell phone provider. [Full Story »]

The Dodge County Middle School Grappling Warriors traveled to Dublin recently to compete in the Middle Georgia Middle School Athletic Association Region Championships. Thirteen wrestlers represented Dodge County on the mat and nine walked away placing in the top four. As a team, the Warriors brought home third place honors and crowned four champions.
Winning his third region championship was Christian Grauberger, 100 pounds, who pinned his way through the bracket with ease. Also earning a gold medal was Jared Cannon, 138 pounds, who finished up the season as our only undefeated wrestler.
First year grapplers Chandler Davis, 145 pounds and Ethan Rice, 152 pounds, surpassed all expectations and turned in flawless performances to bring home their first wrestling gold medals. At 106 pounds, Aiden Greer, placed second while Cade Cranford, 170 pounds, brought home the bronze medal in his first region competition. Finishing just shy of the medal rounds and placing fourth were Jeremy Mullis, 85 pounds; Noah Atkinson, 126 pounds and Archer Rowland, 180 pounds. The Grappling Warriors have placed third at region for the past three years and despite giving up several weight classes, those who compete have done a remarkable job on the mat.

“Obama has gone from blaming George W. Bush to plagiarizing George W. Bush,” says Mr. Thiessen
Now we have a president and v.p. (vice plagiarist) who have a tendency to plagiarize. Remember Joe Biden suddenly quitting the 1988 presidential race after his plagiarisms came to light? Twenty years later he reemerged, figuring no one would recall the incident. We do.
Obama now says he welcomes the United Nations global gun ban. He has always voted for gun control, gun bans, gun confiscation in the Illinois legislature and the U.S. Senate. He had the gall to lie about his gun views when running in 2008, claiming he believed in private gun ownership. Just like the Clintons and many other politicians, his promises should come with expiration dates. [Full Story »]
