Dodge County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting Sunday afternoon, August 22 around 3:15 p.m. at a residence on the Chester Highway just outside Eastman.

Deputies arrived to find Billy Ray Fountain (age 40) deceased with several gunshot wounds.

A manhunt ensued for the alleged offender who fled on foot from the residence.

Preliminary reports indicate that three (3) men began arguing at the residence when Dean Crenshaw allegedly pulled out a pistol and began firing.

Crenshaw allegedly shot Ray Fountain several times and turned the pistol on Chris Fountain, who fled out the door. Chris Fountain fled to the safety of the Dodge County jail and reported the shooting to sheriff’s officials.

Crenshaw was located and taken into custody around 5:30 p.m. on North Street in Eastman, less than 1/2 mile from the scene. Michael Dean Crenshaw (age 41) of Eastman, has been charged with malice murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Deputies say that alcohol was involved. Dodge County Sheriff’s investigators and agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) are continuing to investigate the incident.

Dodge County deputies were assisted in the manhunt by the Eastman Police Department, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office’s Special Response Team (SRT), the Georgia State Patrol, the Chauncey Police Department and the Dodge C.I. K-9 Unit.

He should not have had a gun if he was a convicted felon and by the way what does it have to do with a convicted felon being killed by the hands of another. He was not sentenced to death by the justice system but by someone who took it upon himself to play judge,juror and executioner.

Is that right? Thank you for your advice but I will Keep typing it MY WAY. I am sorry but you cannot SEE who I am. So how can you say I LOOK stupid? I am who I am to say whatever I want as long as God approve I donot care what man thinks. GOD BLESS!
