Ashley Renea Belflower (21), of Eastman, was injured when the Dodge Intrepid she was driving was hit by a 2000 Volvo tractor trailer driven by Armando J. Blayo-Rodriques (47), of Florida.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Belflower was traveling west in the right hand lane approaching the intersection of Georgia 117 and Georgia 27.
Rodriques was traveling south on Georgia 117 and applied his brakes to stop at the intersection when his load shifted and tilted and he traveled through the intersection.
Belflower swerved into the left lane trying to avoid contact when Rodriques was in the center of the intersection and hit Belflower.
