Davis wins fifth race at 441-speedway

Michael Davis of Cochran won his fifth Dublin-Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep Super Street Feature of the season Saturday night August 7, 2010 at Dublin 441 Speedway.

After starting second row outside in the first qualifying heat, Davis zipped into the lead and won it then started from the inside pole of the feature held off the hard charging Ron Dykes of Warner Robins for an exciting crowd pleasing race.

Following Dykes was Craig Ussery of Milan, Tracy Mimbs of East Dublin and Earl Lord of Dublin.

Robert Diekemper of Bloomingdale joined the first career winners group after posting the fastest qualifying time, starting from the pole and leading flag to flag, in the Pro Air Supply Late Model Division.

William Horton of Davisboro had his best finish of the year placing second, followed by Ricky Brantley of Ailey, Wiley McDaniel of Centerville and Eric Bagget of Dublin.

Rodney Marcus of Dublin won the Pure Stock Feature while Lance Floyd of Cochran was second, Don Gay of Dublin-third, Chad Graham of East Dublin-fourth and David Ussery of Dublin-fifth.

Matt Peebles of Montrose won the Bomber Feature followed by Ron Dykes of Warner Robins, Tyler Mimbs of East Dublin, Jordan Dykes of Dublin and Bobby Willis of Rentz. Another first career winner was Jeffrey Lynn of Baxley in the Road Warrior Feature.

Next Saturday August 14, 2010 a Special Paul’s Tire and Auto featuring races in all divisions is scheduled. Thursday night August 19, 2010 the speedway presents “Thursday Night Thunder Race” that was rained out last Thursday. Then on Saturday August 21, 2010 the United Late Model Series appears in a one night race, along with local regular races.
