“More freedom from central planners is what we need, not more central planning.”
John Kannarr in Liberty
I’m a subscriber to Liberty: 1-800-854-6991 toll-free - a great magazine. I found it several years back from - who - else - Dr. Ron Paul. Dr. Paul’s toll-free message is available at 1-888-322-1414, updated weekly. As far as I can tell, no other member of Congress has an update line. Most probably would not want you to know what they’re doing.
CNN’s Wolf Blitzer actually did a good interview with Mexico’s president Felipe Calderon (in English) and asked him about Mexico’s tough immigration laws. Good for Wolf. Wolf showed me something, for a change.
Calderon bluntly admitted that Mexico did not tolerate people crossing their Southern border from Central America.
Sneak-ins cannot get jobs in Mexico and people are routinely asked for their papers in Mexico by police.
Blitzer: They can work.
Calderon: If somebody do that without permission, we send back - We send back them.
Blitzer: You find them and you send them back?
Calderon: Yes.
The Situation Room, aired May 19, 2010.
The great Internet writer Allan Wall (allanwall.net), who lived in Mexico for years, says of Calderon:
Amazing! Calderon frankly describes Mexico’s non-open borders treatment of Central American illegal aliens from countries that are even poorer than Mexico. Yet the very next day, he had no problem whatsoever lambasting Arizona, in the U.S. Congress, for a law that’s not even as strict as Mexico’s immigration law.
That’s real chutzpah. That’s arrogance. But Calderon got away with it.”

As LewRockwell.com writer John Keller pointed out in December 2007, Ron Paul was the only candidate from either party suggesting that birth-right citizenship be ended. Even Tom Tancredo hadn’t made that point as of the December 2007 “debate” on CNN. Ron Paul had a six point plan on RonPaul2008.com. Number five reads:
“End birthright citizenship. As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the incentive to enter the U.S. illegally will remain strong.”
John Keller had a fine analysis of the CNN farce of a Republican presidential debate. You can expect continued use of such media “debate” bias in the future.
“The usual bias by position tactic was employed. Unlike the reverse pyramid style of newsprint, long-format TV viewing tends to accentuate content in a bathtub curve. Content at the start is absorbed by those who tune in, then (wisely) tune out, and content at the end is recalled by those with the stomach to watch the entire 2-hour politico-fest.”
One has to be a bit sick to watch that stuff for a couple of hours.
“Being able to say ‘I told you so’ is small consolation. The Obamanization of America needs to be stopped instead of debated by future historians.”

What they don’t mention about oil spills: the .001 percent spill rate - miniscule. Of course, any water spill is terrible. We need more drilling in remote land regions to avoid what happened in the Gulf region. Liberals force the action by preventing drilling in safer places.

Bumper stickers of the day - a weird combination seen at the Snellville, Ga. post office. One was FAIR TAX - abolish the IRS. The other side of the bumper had Obama ‘08.
Obama is as likely to be for the FAIR Tax as he is to be playing Dixie on his CD player.

The sad truth is that the term "Dixie" has been twisted by leftists like Mr Obama and his media allies to mean "Nazi."
"Dixie" was President Lincolns favorite song- think about it- even Lincoln loved "Dixie" - now the term has been scrubbed by NASCAR from any competitions and even records won at "Dixie" races have been modified to reflect this Orwellian notion of rewriting history to suit anti American sentiments.
Imagine erasing references to "Mexico" our hostile/poverty ridden southern neighbor.
No,Obama would not have Dixie... because he does not share or reverance Western Cultural history. He and his ilk seek to supplant it

Remember when Denver basketball legend/exec Dan Issel called a reporter a 'Mexican idiot"? If only he'd called him an idiot, he'd probably have hung on, but adding the word "Mexican" forced him out of the job. WASPs are the "no respect" people these days.
There are several good books on Abe Lincoln by Thomas DiLorenzo (not a fan of Abe). Abe had that redeeming quality : he liked Dixie, the song, that is, not the region.
