Intruders take first at national tournament

The Intruders fast-pitch softball team took first place in the CamSports National Invitational Tournament (NIT) at Crisp County Park in Cordele Saturday, June 26, 2010.

The Intruders are a 14 and under travel team, but competed in the 16 and under age division where they captured first place.

Following two pool game losses, the Intruders executed precision teamwork and remained in the winner’s bracket all day to capture the first place finish.

The Intruders are sponsored by Amice Italian Cafe of Milledgeville.

Playing for the Intruders Saturday were Ashley Rowland of Dodge County; Jacky Hinton of Washington County; Geordan Cullen’s of Washington County; Brooke Hinton of Washington County; Anna Jackson of Wilkinson County, Mattie Usry of Greene County, Danielle Easterly of Putnam County; Jessica Hayles of Wilkinson County; Candace Story of Washington County; Emily Snider of Washington County; Anna Katherine Stewart of Washington County and Rachel Prestwood of Baldwin County.

The Intruders are coached by Dennis Moore and Tim Turner and were assisted Saturday by Mark Snider and Gilbert Story.

The Intruders are a 14-and-under travel softball team that includes players from central Georgia counties.
