14 and under Dodge girls headed to state

Dodge County 14 and under girls started their district tournaments on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Eastman Dodge Recreation Department.

Dodge defeated Screven 20 to four in the first round.

Second round against Hawkinsville on Thursday led Dodge to another win 13 to zero.

On Friday, games were rained out forcing a very long day of tournament play in the heat on Saturday.

Dodge faced Soperton early in the day and walked away with a 16 to one win. That win secured our girls position in the Championship game at 1:00 p.m.

Dodge 14 and under girls took first place over Glenville with a six to two score to bring home the title of 2010 First District Champions Class C Junior Girls Softball. Dodge girls are headed to the state tournament in Appling County on July 8, 2010.

Team members are Madison Mullis, TY Northcutt, Blakelyn Bundick, Hannah Moore, Katie Selph, Summer Dix, Davina Clark, Sierra Brown, Caitlyn Smith, Brea LaFavor, Kristen Holland.

Terry Evans is the coach for the girls.

The girls and parents would like to thank everyone who came out to support them. We would like to especially thank our recreation director, Bodie Gray, and his assistant director, Larry Bolhorst, for the wonderful work they do to support our youth in the community.
