Beware of current telephone scam

There is currently a telephone scam circulating, according to the Eastman Police Department.

Individuals are being contacted via cell phone from an automated service posing as a bank stating their debit/atm card has been de-activated and the card number, pin number and expiration date is required to re-activate the card.

THIS IS A SCAM!

Banks never call customers requesting this information.

If you received this call and disclosed your information, contact the bank immediately and speak with a customer service representative to cancel your card.

If you did not release any information, no further action is necessary.
