Funding for the local community share of this project was challenging and a constant difficult problem. Limited funding and the uncertainty of available funds were issues that were constant and significant at each stage of the airport project.
The members of the airport authority worked with diligence and persistence to “never give up” until the completion of the present airport facility. This is a facility that the citizens of Eastman/Dodge County can be proud of.
I would like to take this opportunity to recognize the former members of the airport authority for their dedication and service to our community. Former Heart of Georgia Regional Airport Authority members were Jim Green, Jerry Bland, Charles Williams, Jimmy Pruett, the late Dr. John Coleman, Ivelyn Lampkin (HGRA secretary) and Mike Johnson (HGRA Authority attorney).

It's soothing to my reading to see positive acknowledgements for "Jobs well done"! I would like to read more in the editors letters concerning positive works being done! It's nice to read this rather than allot of complaining that gets readers in a dull mood! What you read is contagous, so when people are recognizing others accomplishments, it in turn, drives others to do the same! Thank you
