The Dodge County 12U All-Stars began their season by participating in the 48 Annual Lyons Youth Tournament.
The girls took on Ware County in the first game on Tuesday. The girls came out strong and never looked back as they ruled Ware County by a score of 16-1 in three innings.
Next up for the girls was a four o’clock date with Appling County.
Just like the previous game, the girls came out with hot bats and great pitching and easily cruised to a 20-1 victory. On Wednesday, the girls faced Jeff Davis and won by a score of 7-1.
This set up a tough game against powerhouse Bryan County.
The girls continued to swing hot bats and came away with an easy 13-4 victory. With this win the girls were one game away from the championship.
The team had to wait until they arrived at the park to see who they would face in the final game.
The girls had another date with Bryan County as they eliminated Jeff Davis from the tournament on Thursday.
Both teams came out pumped and ready for battle. Dodge jumped out to an early lead and put five runs on the board in the first two innings.
Bryan would hold off the girls and would eventually put three runs across but good defense by Dodge held them off and the team came away with the championship by a score of 5-3.
