Dear Editor,
What do you have? There are many responses one may give to that question.

What do you have? Pabst Blue Ribbon beer was a commercial on television a long time ago.

As we look at the way that children are being brought up in the past several generations, one might think that we are still having that Pabst Blue Ribbon beer.

Eastman is a great community, but like communities throughout the state, we are loosing our children, generation after generation. The fact that too many parents, whether there are one or two, are doing a very poor job in the area of discipline and holding children accountable for theirs actions. Why make rules or laws that we fail to enforce?
To pacify one of to make to be at peace, appease claim or soothe. Why do we kid ourselves? Most adults like to do the things that make them feel good without doing good. They like to do things when the mood suits them.

Too many Americans have forgotten who they were yesterday so they do not know who they are today. We have forgotten how to live beyond how we feel. We should realize its better to build children than repair men. A home should be the one place a child can graduate from the university of character.

There will always be a hole in a child’s life when their father or the mother is missing. A child will earn one more tomorrow because of what they did today. Children who expect nothing will not be disappointed. When it comes to trust in our children’s life, loyalty must not have an expiration date.

A child should be taught how to live beyond how they feel. Children should understand that there will be times they will do the right thing before seeing the right results. There must be thousands and thousands of children that wake up each day with their lives like the wind. They can feel the wind, but cannot see it or know where it is going.

Their lives have become just like I am leaving the right now and I am going to the not yet. Children are living with so much stress. Much of this is contributed to hurry up and wait. One does not like long without soul satisfaction. While stress does not create change, not all stress is harmful.

As we continue to not train our children they will continue to suffer from the can not help it. They one thing that children will always need to be happy is our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. They need to stop, look, and listen for what Christ has to say to them.

THE CHURCH SEEKS THE FACE OF GOD AND GET HIS HEART
AND LOVE FOR THE YOUTH THEY WILL NEED UNDERSTANDING
AND TIME TO LEARN TO WALK LIKE JESUS IS THE CHURCH

I have been constantly bringing attention to the the needs for parents to get involved in their children lives. If one goes back and read my comments time after time I have told the parents that they need to do a better job of raising their children at home. Now these days parents are letting children walk all over them and this should not be. Thank God I was born in the era when raising children the old fashion way of life was by not letting me get away with anything small or large. My mother ruled with an iron fist. She didnot only get on me when I did something wrong but seem like the all the ladies in the neighborhood got involvled also. I truly know what it means when ones says "it takes a village to raise a child." Now a days people donot want you to tell them about the bad action of thier children they are so quick to say you are putting little Susie or Tommy down but if they would open their eyes and hearts to what one is trying to tell them then maybe they could see that all some people are trying to do is to help them out in a positive way. Thank GOD for my old school upbringing, I today have respect for myself and others. Mothers if you have to be the mother and father in your household then do it. Fathers if you have to be the mr. mom and the father then do what it takes to keep your children on a straight and narrow path toward their future. Thanks to my mom Julia rest in peace you never had to come visit me oneday behind bars. You made me a productive citizen in society and taught me how to respect God and mankind. Thanks again mom I love you.

I agree!Our children are our warefare! We should be training up leaders in the way they should go! Spare the rod, you hate the child! I agree that parents have a great responsibility in raising their children! Many parents get caught up in guilt ro slothfulness hindering their progress with their children. The right way is not always easy, but it brings peace and joy! My four children know that I discipline them because I love them! They know it's my responsibility to God to see to it that they are trained in they ways and wisdom of our Lord. One of many things I used to help my children understand why I'm not lenient on them when it comes to their discipline and training is the story about Eli and his sons. Eli is an example of how lenience cause the curse in their lives: his sons were defient and rude. They defiled the temple with women. All Eli told them was " Don't do that!" He didn't enforce discipline and training. In return satan had a foothold and the Ark was taken by the Philistines, his sons died, his daughter-in-law died in childbirth and he fell out of a chair and broke his neck. He was only in his 90's. That wasn't considered old at that time. his sons, himself, and daughter-in-law died prematurily. My children understand to keep that curse out of our lives, I have to stand on my feet and obey our God and so do they! I love my children enough to go through some sleepless nights praying, and constant discipline and training an screening where they go who they talk to what they watch what they listen to etc... Many think my ways are crazy but that doesn't concern me! crazy would be continuing in my own way of doing it years ago before God and never getting any results! God's always right! Before realizing all of this, my children used to have me backed into a corner crying feeling helpless! Now, they are a very big blessing in my life! their ages are 6,7,11, and 12 almost 13! It may seem harsh to soom but God says foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child and the rod of correction will drive it far away!!! Of course, it has to be done lovingly and be controled! I don't have to spank my children as much as I had to before!!! My heart goes out to parents to say don't give up and seed God first on the matter! God is never wrong! I thank God for youth ministers of God's Word! We should keep our children busy in working in the kingdom of God because satan is trying to tag our children and we can't let that happen! I appologize for a long letter, I enjoy "writting" on subjects involving our Heavenly Father! If I over did it please forgive me. with unconditional love to all

You are a very wise woman and your children should and I believe they do thank God for having a mother like you. We need more good parents like you and if we did, oh, what a wonderful world this would be. Keep up the good work God has bestowed upon your heart concerning raising your children and I shall keep you and your family before God in prayer. Please donot care what others think let them go on with their stinking thinking and you keep doing the will of God concerning your children, when God is on your side as he is now then no man can be against you and remember no weapon formed against you shall prosper as long as you are doing the will of God. The devil is mighty but God is almighty and I said almighty. We must take control of our children life the way God wants us to because if we don't satan is waiting to get his hands on them and I wish other parents could see this the way you and I do and if they do then they need to take action. Parents turn off that mess on tv, the hip hop,rap and all that drop it like it's hot mess because it is not getting the children no where but in trouble it can lead to drugs, wild sex and unwanted pregnancy and not to mention of all things death.
