Dodge County Sheriff’s investigators recovered multiple stolen vehicles last week and made three (3) arrests in connection with the cases.
On Friday, May 28, deputies recovered a stolen motorcycle and a 4-wheel all terrain vehicle (ATV) from a residence on Spivey Road outside of Eastman.
The motorcycle and the ATV were stolen from a residence in Gresston earlier in the week.
Investigators have arrested and charged Charles James Mitcheltree (age 18), of Eastman, with burglary and felony theft by taking in connection with the case.
On May 25, investigators recovered another ATV from a wooded area off Jim Ross Road. The ATV had been reported stolen from a storage barn in the same area earlier in the week. Investigators have arrested two (2) individuals, Timothy Downey (age 24), of Eastman, and Mark Stokes (age 17). Both are charged with felony theft by taking in connection with this ATV theft investigation.
An individual also reported to deputies last week that a Dodge Durango was stolen from her residence. Investigators recovered that sports utility vehicle also. The investigation into that case is still ongoing and no arrest has been made in that case as of presstime.
Deputies served a search warrant earlier in the month on May 7, at a property location on the Friendship U.M.C. Road in northern Dodge County in which alleged narcotics were discovered. However, the occupant of the property was not present when the warrant was served. Sheriff’s narcotic investigators secured arrest warrants for the individual occupying the property. Investigators were able execute those arrest warrants last Tuesday night with the arrest of Don W. Kuni (age 52), of a Cochran address. Kuni is charged with possession of methamphetamines with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, unlawful possession of ephedrine and several other narcotic law violations.
Frank Williams Thomas (age 31), of Eastman, has been arrested in Wheeler County on two (2) outstanding arrest warrants secured by Dodge County deputies earlier in the month after a domestic fight. Thomas is charged with cruelty to children and with another felony for failing to register as a sex offender within seventy two (72) hours of changing residential addresses after he absconded from Dodge County after the altercation.
