You can see what they’re doing when they steer the discussion away from current problems and onto questions about the War of 1861, Jim Crow laws, segregated lunch counters, civil rights laws, etc. The attempt is to equate conservatism with segregation, which they have been doing for years.
Whenever anyone wanted to discuss Bill Clinton’s sleazy behavior, his defenders claimed it was past history, five, ten or fifteen years earlier and didn’t merit any consideration. They think nothing of going back 150 years or so in this case when it will benefit themselves.
Rand Paul saw how the left twisted the statements of his father Ron Paul, one of the most honorable public officials ever, and now they’re coming after him. Never let liberals set the agenda and make you a punching bag. Going on their television shows always puts you on the defensive. MSNBC: Media Spin from the National Barack Channel.
Commentator Dick Morris says incumbency is a huge liability in 2010.
“It is simply better to come from nowhere to run this year than to seek to keep a seat in this totally discredited Congress.”
Liberals like to decry the lack of civility in today’s political discourse while practicing it themselves.
Remember Dr. Jack Cassell, the Mount Dora, Florida urologist who posted a sign on his door suggesting Obama voters might seek urologic care elsewhere?
Dr. Cassell says the government values wage earners, workers, and doesn’t want those who used to pay taxes but now do not (the older people). They are expendable to government.
He points out that only about half the doctors now take Medicaid, a money loser for them, and they have to stay afloat. Dr. Cassell says the American Medical Association (he’s not a member) only represents about 17 percent of doctors in the United States.
In a radio interview with conservative commentator Mike Gallagher, Dr. Cassell said he looked at the numbers and found that his new patient load had tripled since he put up his sign. If I lived in Central Florida (not a bad idea) I’d go to him. You could tell he was a good guy when liberals all over television started ridiculing him.
Obviously Dr. Jack Cassell is a great American.
Arizona’s two biggest attractions are - you guessed it - #1 is the Grand Canyon, #2 is the London Bridge, now located in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. I’ve been to the Grand Canyon several times and recommend it. The bridge was bought, disassembled, the parts numbered and reassembled in Arizona. Oilman Robert McCullough bought it for $2,460,000 in 1968. It was estimated that in London the bridge was slowly sinking, at the rate of about an inch per decade. That does sound slow, doesn’t it.
Self-styled “moderate” commentator Michael Smerconish, a supporter of Obama, Colin Powell and Arlen Specter (at least he’s open about it), calls the AEI “a right-wing think tank.” Perhaps to Michael it is, but what constitutes “left-wing”? Trying to make sense of their labels only shows you the center of gravity in America’s political landscape has moved far to the left.
Florida Governor Charlie “can’t miss” Crist, ex-Republican, now running for the U.S. Senate as an independent, says he would vote to confirm Elena Kagan for the Supreme Court, but can’t remember why he opposed Sonya Sotomayor, now on the Court. Maybe he opposed So-So when he was a Republican, but now seeks to move left in search of votes. Wherever you are on the political spectrum, Charlie Crist is liable to be there with you, but only for a little while. A year ago Charlie was considered a sure bet to win the Senate seat, then fell way behind to Marco Rubio, who actually stands for something. Marco will do a fine job in the Senate. The day before he switched, Charlie claimed he would stay with the Republicans. You could say his positions are fluid. Go Marco!
Bumper sticker of the day: Obama Bin Spendin
In Scott Brown’s Senate win in Massachusetts, 52 percent of white women voted for his white female opponent, while he carried the white male vote overwhelmingly, 60 percent to 38 percent.
