On the Georgia coaching change, SBNation.com writer Bill Connelly says (and I agree):
“But by announcing it was tired of class and 10-win seasons, Georgia put itself in an awkward position. Maybe the replacement is spectacular. But the odds of a lesser hire are strong.”
Remember Coach John L. Smith, former head football coach at Michigan State, Arkansas and Louisville, also a bunch of other schools as an assistant coach? Coach Smith is now head coach at Division II Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, making a fraction of what he used to make. He says of his school (enrollment around 3,800): “This is not exactly the SEC.” His entire yearly budget is $400,000. The school president told Coach Smith that he would have to raise half of the budget himself.
In the Alabama vs. Auburn Iron Bowl game, Alabama’s Derrick Henry gained 271 yards while Auburn’s entire team gained 260 yards. One big reason for Georgia Coach Mark Richt’s departure was the injury to his star player Nick Chubb, leading to a declining season. Chubb was gaining 100 yards or more every game, hitting over 100 against Alabama. He would’ve been good for at least one more victory, notably against Tennessee. Control the ball and you keep the other team’s offense standing on the sidelines. Remember the Poulon Weedeater Bowl, the Pecan Bowl and the Tangerine Bowl?
Have you noticed there are no ballplayers any more. Now they are called “student athletes.”
I’m writing this on December 7th, Pearl Harbor Day, also basketball legend Larry Bird’s birthday, born 12-7-56. He’s now 59 years old, hard to believe.
We now have the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl and the Tax Slayer Bowl. I assume many taxpayers will attend the Tax Slayer Bowl. Auburn makes the long 99-mile trip to the Birmingham Bowl. Maybe they should create a Tax Dodger Bowl. I suggest a Positive Cash Flow Bowl.
“When jogging, we put on special clothes so people don’t think we are running from or to something.”

Two good reasons to stop watching Fox (loaded with liberals) News: Geraldo Rivera and Juan Williams. I watch it less and less and if I see one of those losers pop up on the screen I use one of the world’s greatest inventions, the television remote control. A much better choice is Fox Business News. A good news/talk show you can get on the Internet is Bud Hedinger on WFLA in Orlando, 6-9 a.m. The site is 1025WFLA.com. It beats the heck out of TV and George Step On All Of Us.
