Dear Editor,
Poor service received from the county for residents on Edna Moore Road.
My name is Alicia Jackson-Fluellen and I am a resident on Edna Moore Road in Dodge County. My neighborhood is compiled of a diverse group of residents from different levels of socioeconomic status and ages.
Discrimination or incompetent staff?

Taking a page from the President's book, 'racism and discrimination' is rampart in the US. Those two words cover all the ills in our society. Of course. Pass a law in Arizona that upholds Americans and tries to help protect them, it's discrimination. Don't vote for a man because you disagree with his politics and he happens to be black, that's racism. yelling racism and discrimination is just a way to place blame. Could it be there are no monies, no time to do these repairs? Sad that this country is being brought back to all that--

This country is not being brought back to discrimination the matter is it never left. Where have you been PINKIE hiding under a rock, I am sure you have been discriminated against at some point in your life. It doesnot mean that the race card is the factor sometimes it could be because of your gender, the color pf your eyes, the way one dresses or their sexual prefence so wake up and take notes as to what is around you and stop being close minded to reality and the issue at hand.

Could it be that the other neighborhoods home values are higher? Could it be that they pay more taxes? But all should be treated equally.

There is a sign up about the children but it was put in a place there on the crub where there is no children. I question someeone and asked why was this new sign at the 400 block of Edna Moore Road but did not get an answer from the person I was asking. If one goes to the 400 block of Edna Moore Road they will notice a sign near the curb where a memorial for a child has been setup. Now maybe someone would like to look into what I am saying and the answer might be that this sign to make motorist know that children play along this road, just might have been put up in the wrong location on this road. Which is no excuse at all children need to be protected. Go down by the memorial on this road and you see will this sign if it has not been taken down. It just dawned on me, what Ms Fluellen speaking of. It has been one of the roads I traveled.

I did ask about this area after all these comments. Parts of Dodge County roads are under the state's care, it has nothing to do with the city or the county. Given the diversity of the County Sheriff's office and the Eastman Police department, I would not lay this problem at discrimination's door. However, as I said before, some people use that as an easy way to place blame.

The children at play sign has nothing to do with your comment it was directed at Ms Fluellen(whom I admire), about the sign concerning children at play and by the way the sign I saw is posted down the road in the county. I believe Ms Fluellen lives in the city so if she does then the blame sign should be taken up and brought to the approiate SPOT on the road. Plain and simple, please someone look into the sign being down the 400 Block of this road, I saw it there not too long ago and it caught my attention and no I am not a crazy litle old lady, just someone who is wise beyond my years. The real issue here is not about property but about the precious children that live and play along this road, now let us try to prevent an accident before it happens the best way we can. If this resident lives in that area then someone should speak directly to her abought situations that's being brought to hand. I don't think I would like to live there and pay my hard earned money for services that I am not getting. Maybe they should not pay the taxes and take their dollars, pool together and pay for the up keep of the land. I donot thing the politicians here in Dodge county or the City of Eastman would like that. Now that Ms Fluellen story has come to light I pray someone meet with the residents out there to try to solve the problem as much as one possible can. STOP playing the blame game. No offense to anyone but if it step on toes to get some positive action so be it, then I shall speak.
