Commissioners look to shave spending 5%

Dodge County commissioners voted Monday, April 19 to require all county departments to find ways to cut their budget by five percent between now and the end of 2010.

The departments will have 30 days to come up with their plan to save money. Commissioners decided to seek the cuts due to state cutbacks in funding to the county.

County manager Kelly Bowen reported to the commissioners that bids will be sought and then opened on June 2 for striping of county roads and new stop and warning signs throughout the county. The county received a $400,000.00 grant to complete the project.
