Dodge County Sheriff’s Deputies and Dodge EMS, along with first responders from both the Gresston and Roddy Volunteer Fire Departments, responded late Monday afternoon, August 3, around 6:00 p.m. to an overturned vehicle on Carrigg Circle in Gresston. The driver of the vehicle, Michael David Carrigg (age 30) of an Eastman address, was injured and transported to Dodge County Hospital.
Carrigg was later released from the hospital and booked into the Dodge County jail charged by deputies with driving under the influence (DUI), driving too fast for conditions and for having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle, Jason Jackson Howell (age 32) of Eastman, was also arrested by deputies on an outstanding warrant for the theft by taking of a four wheel all terrain vehicle from a residence on the Golf Course Road back in April of this year.
Sheriff’s Investigators have solved another burglary. A residential burglary took place a couple of weeks ago on Bedsole Road. Investigators have charged Daniel Douglas Gay (age 30) of Eastman with the burglary and two (2) counts of theft by deception. The charges are the result of the ongoing theft ring investigation by the Sheriff’s Office which was reported several weeks ago. More arrests are forthcoming from the ongoing investigation, according to Sheriff’s Investigators.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office recently held a joint safety road check with the Bleckley County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) Regional Task Force. The road check took place at the Dodge/Bleckley Line on the Cochran Highway. The Sheriff’s Office will be participating in Operation Zero Tolerance with the GOHS which will begin the third weekend of August and continue through the upcoming Labor Day Holiday.
Thanks,
Chuck
