The Dodge County High School (DCHS) Squaws and Indians ended their regular seasons with two wins each last week. The Squaws defeated Toombs County 71 to 25 and Islands 73 to 14 while the Indians defeated Toombs County, 65 to 49 and Islands 61 to 59.
The tenth ranked Squaws finished the regular season 20 and four and a perfect 10 and zero in Region 1-AAA side A. The first place finish in the sub-region gives Dodge County the right to host the semi-finals and finals of the Region 1-AAA tournament on Friday, February 13 and Saturday, February 14.
The Squaws received a first round bye and will also play their second round game in Eastman on Thursday, February 12 at 7:30 p.m. against the winner of the Jenkins/Brantley County game to be played on Tuesday. With a win the Squaws will play in the semifinals on Friday at 7:00 p.m. hopefully moving on to the championship game on Saturday, February 14 at 7:00 p.m.
There will be three girls games played at Dodge County on Thursday, February 12 beginning at 4:30 p.m. There will be four games played on Friday and Saturday beginning at 4:00 p.m. each day.
The Indians finished the season at 10 and 13 and with a second place seven and three finish in Region 1-AAA side A.
The Indians will host a first round region tournament game on Wednesday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m. against the winner of Islands/Pierce County, which will be played on Monday. With a win on Wednesday, the Indians will travel to Tattnall County to play the winner of Savannah/Toombs County at 4:30 p.m. for a chance to return home on Friday and Saturday for the semi-finals and finals.
There will be two boys’ games played at Dodge County on Wednesday beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Scoring for the Squaws against Toombs County was: Rachel Selph, 16 points; Keyria Gordon, 14 points; Tanasha Coley, 11 points; Haley Holloway, 11 points, including three-three pointers; Tierra Hamilton, five points including a three pointer; Kristen Hall, four points; Shardea Jackson, four points; Alexis Northcutt, four points; and Jurnee Powell, two points.
Squaws scoring against Islands was: Selph 19 points; Coley, 17 points; Gordon, 10 points; Hall, nine points; Holloway, six points; Hamilton, four points; Jackson, two points; Maritza Martinez, two points; Northcutt, two points; and Powell, two points.
Scoring for the Indians against Toombs County was: Alex Jordan, 14 points including two-three pointers; AJ Lampkin, 12 points including two-three pointers; Nic Cummings, 11 points including a three pointer; DeMarcus McClinton, 10 points; Davion Phillips, five points including a three pointer; Readell Hunt, four points; Roscoe Wilcox, two points; Demonte Ivey, two points; and Noah Wilcox, two points.
Indians scoring against Islands was: Jordan, 18 points including four-three pointers; Lampkin, 14 points including a three pointer; McClinton, 12 points; Hunt, four points; Wilcox, four points; Cummings, three points; McKenzie Harvey, two points; CJ Kemp, two points; and Phillips, two points.
