The Dodge County High (DCHS) basketball teams had a full slate of games last week. The Squaws remained undefeated in sub-region play at eight and zero as they picked up wins over Tattnall County and Appling County. They also defeated rival West Laurens in a non-region game.
The Squaws defeated Tattnall County, 62 to 27; Appling County, 64 to 51; and West Laurens, 57 to 39. The Squaws are now 15 and four overall.
The Indians fell in a heartbreaker to Tattnall County and avenged an earlier loss to Appling County to improve to five and three in the sub-region. They lost another heartbreaker in overtime in one their best games of the season to West Laurens in a non-region game. The Indians fell to Tattnall County, 44 to 46; 77 to 84 in overtime to West Laurens; and defeated Appling County, 68 to 37. The Indians are now seven and 11 overall.
Scoring for the Squaws against Tattnall County was: Keyria Gordon, 15 points; Robreasha Carr, 12 points; Tanasha Coley, eight points; Kristen Hall, eight points; Haley Holloway, seven points including a three-pointer; Alexis Northcutt, five points including a three-pointer; Maritza Martinez, two points; Jurnee Powell, two points; Rachel Selph, two points; and Timeasha Collins, one point.
Scoring against Appling was: Selph, 20 points; Gordon, 19 points; Hall, nine points; Coley, six points; Powell, six points; Holloway, two points; and Shardea Jackson, two points.
Scoring against West Laurens was: Selph, 21 points; Gordon, 16 points; Hall, 10 points; Coley, three points; Collins, two points; Northcutt, two points; Powell, two points; and Jackson, one point.
Scoring for the Indians against Tattnall County was: Alex Jordan, 17 points including three three-pointers; DeMarcus McClinton, 12 points; Nick Cummings, five points; AJ Lampkin, four points; Maleek Graham, two points; Davion Phillips, two points; and Roscoe Wilcox, two points.
Scoring against Appling was: Jordan, 13 points including two three pointers; Cummings, nine points including a three pointer; Lampkin, nine points including a three pointer; CJ Kemp, eight points; Graham, seven points; Wilcox, seven points; McClinton, six points; Brice Blocker, three points; Readell Hunt, two points; and Demonte Ivey, two points.
Scoring against West Laurens, Cummings, 22 points, including a three pointer; Jordan, 21 points, including five three pointers; Lampkin, 12 points including a three pointer; McClinton, nine points; Kemp, six points; Wilcox, six points; and Graham, two points.
Dodge travels to Southeast Bulloch on Friday, January 30 and will return home on Saturday, January 31 to host Warner Robins High.
They will return home for the final two regular season games on Tuesday, February 3 against Toombs County and Islands High. Friday, February 6 will be senior night.
The region 1-AAA tournament will be held on February 9 through February 14 at Dodge County High School.
