The Dodge County High School (DCHS) Squaws and Indians basketball teams each won two of their three games last week. The Squaws are now 11 and two overall and five and zero in the sub-region while the Indians are six and six overall and four and one in the sub-region.
The Squaws defeated Toombs County in a sub-region game 71 to 36 on Tuesday, January 6, but the sixth ranked Squaws suffered their second loss of the season to the eighth ranked Beach High Bulldogs of Savannah on Friday, January 9 by a score of 48 to 61. The Squaws were without leading scoring Rachel Selph, who was out with a knee injury. Dodge bounced back with a 77 to 35 win over rival Bleckley County on Saturday, January 10.
Scoring for the Squaws against Toombs County was as follows Keyria Gordon, 18 points; Tanasha Coley, 14 points; Kristen Hall, 10 points including a three pointer; Haley Holloway, seven points, including a three pointer; Tierra Hamilton, six points; Jurnee Powell, six points; Shardea Jackson, four points; Maritza Martinez, two points, Alexis Northcutt, two points; and Rachel Selph, two points.
Scoring for Dodge against Beach was as follows Gordon, 19 points; Hall, eight points, Powell, eight points; Coley, seven points; Jackson, five points including a three-pointer; and Hamilton, one point.
Scoring for the Squaws against Bleckley County was as follows Hall, 19 points; Holloway, 14 points including four three-pointers; Gordon, 13 points; Coley, 12 points; Robreasha Carr, eight points including a three-pointer; Timeasha Collins, seven points; Hamilton a three-pointer; Jackson, two points; and Powell, two points.
The Indians improved to four and one in the sub-region with a 62 to 54 win at Toombs County on Tuesday, January 6. Dodge fell to Beach High in Savannah on Friday, January 9 by a score of 53 to 58 and rebounded with a 65 to 42 win against Bleckley County on Saturday, January 10.

The DCHS Indians are now six and six overall and four and one in sub-region.
Dodge will host Savannah High on Friday, January 16 and will travel to Brantley County on Saturday, January, 17. They return home on Tuesday, January 20 to host Tattnall County.
