The fifth ranked Dodge County High School Squaws ran their record to eight and one overall and three and zero in the sub-region with three wins last week. The Squaws defeated West Laurens 48 to 44 in a non-region game; Brantley County in a sub-region game, 74 to 20 and Hawkinsville, 80 to 32 in another non-region game. The Junior Varsity girls’ team also defeated West Laurens 42 to four and Brantley County 48 to 22.
Scoring for Dodge against West Laurens was: Rachel Selph, 18 points; Keyria Gordon, 10 points; Kristen Hall, nine points; Tanasha Coley, three points; Tierra Hamilton, three points; Alexis Northcutt, three points; and Haley Holloway, two points.
Scoring for the Squaws against Brantley County was: Hall, 18 points; Selph 14 points; Gordon, 13 points; Jurnee Powell, eight points; Coley, five points; Holloway, five points Timeasha Collins, four points; Hamilton, four points; and Alexis Northcutt, three points.
Scoring for the Squaws against Hawkinsville was: Selph, 18 points; Gordon, 15 points; Hamilton, 11 points; Hall, 10 points; Collins, eight points; Northcutt, six points; Holloway, five points; Shardea Jackson, four points; Coley, two points; and Powell, two points.
The Squaws return to play after the long Christmas break at home on Friday, January 2, 2015 against sub-region foe Pierce County at 6: 00 p.m. Junior varsity girls play at 4:15 p.m. and then hit the road on Tuesday, January 6 against Toombs County and Savannah on Friday, January 9 to take on sixth ranked Beach High and back home on Saturday, January 10 to host rival Bleckley County.
The Dodge County High School Indians improved to two and one in the sub-region and are three and five overall after one win and suffering two losses last week. The Indians lost to non-region rivals West Laurens, 52 to 67 and Hawkinsville, 50 to 57 but won against sub-region foe Brantley County, 58 to 53.
Scoring for the Indians against West Laurens was: Alex Jordon, 18 points; Nick Cummings, 12 points; DeMarcus McClinton, 10 points; Maleek Graham, seven points; Readell Hunt, three points; and Roscoe Wilcox, two points.
Scoring for the Indians against Brantley County was: Jordan, 19 points; Graham, 12 points; McClinton, 11 points; Nick Cummings, nine points; Wilcox, four points; Hunt, two points; and Jaquavious Smith, one point;
Scoring for Dodge against Hawkinsville was: Jordan, 19 points; McClinton, eight points; C.J. Kemp, seven points; Graham, six points; Wilcox, six points; Cummings, two points; and Hunt, two points.
The Indians return to play after the Christmas break at home on Friday, January 2, 2015 against sub-region foe Pierce County at 6:00 p.m. and then hit the road on Tuesday, January 6 against Toombs County and Savannah on Friday, January 9 to take on Beach High and back home on Saturday, January 10 to host rival Bleckley County.
