Dear editor,
Please file this opinion letter for more reasons to remain skeptical of “Obama Care.” This week, video surfaced showing professor, economist and “Affordable Care Act “ architect Jonathan Gruber described before an audience at the University of Pennsylvania how deception, “a lack of transparency” and the “stupidity of the American voter” were all critical in getting President Obama’s signature healthcare policy passed into law. Let the audacity of that assertion sink in for a moment. For 62 percent of the Americans, according to “Real Clear Politics” average polls, still view the (ACA) with disfavor. That shouldn’t come as a shock. In fact, the opacity employed in drafting, passing and then marketing the law is one of the reasons why cynicism about “Obama Care” remains so high. Other impolitic statements and videos have started to dribble out in which Gruber claims that the law was written to deceive federal watchdogs and mock conservatives’ concerns over healthcare policy. As I have written before in deriding “Obama Care” and these comments by Gruber as yet another reason to dump this (ACA). This further proves that the democrats and Chief Justice John Roberts of the Supreme Court was complicit and co-conspirators in camouflaging the law’s political un-palatable aspects and sneak them past the unsuspecting public.
