Recently the Boys & Girls Club of Dodge County hosted its annual Appreciation Dinner and One Campaign Kickoff at the Eastman club. Over 200 people including board members, community members, staff, youth, and others were in attendance.
Highlights of the evening included performances by club members and staff as well as the viewing of a personalized video created by staff members.
The Medicine Men provided musical entertainment as well. Member testimonies were given about why the Boys & Girls Club of Dodge County has positively influenced their lives.
Dewey McClain, former NFL player also addressed dinner guests with an outstanding motivational speech. Dewey attended a Boys & Girls Club at an early age and he shared with guests that he is a believer in the Boys & Girls Club movement. Since being a Boys & Girls Club member, Dewey has been recognized as an exceptional athlete as well as a valuable member of the community.
Charles Williams kicked off the 2010 “It Just Takes One” Campaign. The campaign creates a greater awareness of local clubs and enables them to raise more operating dollars at the same time. The local goal of the Dodge County club is $100,000. Meeting this goal will allow us to serve over 250 children annually in Dodge County. Board members are encouraged to make annual financial donations to the club and raise additional funds by passionately asking others.
The generous support of the community allows the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Middle Georgia Region to continue providing youth with the knowledge, skills, and attributes needed to pursue their dreams and become productive adults. The support of Dodge County makes it possible for the Eastman–Dodge county unit to provide programs to do so.
