The Dodge County High tennis teams had several matches over the past two weeks. The girls won four and lost one while the boys won one and lost four over that span. The Lady Indians are now 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the sub region. The boys are now 2-6 overall and 2-2 in the sub region.
On March 9, they played Telfair County. The girls won 5-0. Single winners were: Callen Carroll won 6-0, 6-1; Virginia Hargrove won 6-1, 6-4; Brianna Jessup won 6-3, 6-0. Doubles winners were: Roxan Stuckey and Jaye Hilliard won 6-2, 1-0; Jamie Michael Jones and Hannah Moore won 4-1.
The boys lost 2-3 to Telfair. Individual scores were: John Mark Carter won 6-3, 6-2; Steven Zhang lost 2-6, 1-6; Mark Edwards lost 0-6, 1-6; Rusty Selph and Shane McCranie won 6-0, 6-1 and Erik Evans and Will Vaughn lost 2-6, 4-6.
On March 15 they played Bleckley County. The girls lost 1-4.
Individual winners were: Callen Carroll 6-3, 6-4; Leah Register, 9-7; Katelyn Bollhorst and Kelsey Campbell 8-6.
The boys lost 0-5 to the Royals. John Mark Carter lost 7-5, 1-6, 2-6; Rusty Selph lost 1-6, 0-6; Brian Broady lost 0-6, 0-6; Shane McCranie and Steven Zhang lost 1-6, 1-6; Erik Evans and Will Vaughn lost 1-6, 4-6.
On March 18 they played Telfair again. The girls won 5-0. Winners were: Singles, Callen Carroll 6-1, 6-0; Virginia Hargrove 6-0, 6-3; Brianna Jessup 6-3, 4-6, 10-5; Doubles winners were: Roxan Stuckey and Jaye Hilliard 7-5, 6-3; Jamie Michael Jones and Leah Register 6-0, 6-0; Katelyn Bollhorst and Kelsey Campbell 6-1; Hannah Moore and Jessica Quinones; Taylor Mobley and Lauren Watson.
The boys lost 2-3 to the Trojans. John Mark Carter won 6-3, 7-5; Rusty Selph lost 1-6, 4-6; Brian Broady lost 3-6, 6-4, 5-7; Shane McCranie and Steven Zhang lost 5-7, 6-5, 10-12(tie breaker); Erik Evans and Will Vaughn won 7-6, 5-7, 10-6 (tie breaker).
On March 22 they played Toombs County. The girls won 5-0. Winners for the Lady Indians were; Callen Carroll won 6-0, 6-0; Virginia Hargrove won 6-2, 6-0; Brianna Jessup won 6-0, 6-0; Roxan Stuckey and Jaye Hilliard won 6-0, 6-0; Shantoria Burns and Jamie Michael Jones won 6-0, 6-3.
The boys won 4-1 over the Bulldogs. John Mark Carter won 6-1, 6-2; Brian Broady won 6-0, 6-0; Rusty Selph and Shane McCranie won 6-3, 6-0; Will Vaughn and Erik Evans won 6-1; 6-2.
On March 24 they played West Laurens. The girls won 3-2.
Winners were Callen Carroll, 6-0, 6-0. Doubles teams Roxan Stuckey and Jaye Hilliard, 6-2, 6-3 and Hannah Moore and Jessica Quinones 6-4, 6-4.
The boys lost 1-4 to the Raiders. John Mark Carter won 6-2, 6-4; Steven Zhang lost 0-6, 1-6; Brian Broady lost 0-6; 2-6; Shane McCranie and Rusty Selph lost 1-6, 2-6 and Erik Evans and Will Vaughn lost 0-6, 2-6.
The tennis teams were schedule to play Vidalia on Monday, March 29. If the girls win that match they would be in second place in the sub-region.
